Do you want a kitten?

In our Maine Coon cattery we occasionally have kittens available. If you are interested in homing a kitten please feel free to contact us and let us know what exactly you are looking for. You can contact us e-mail: heli.myyry@jns.fi.

Kittens are only given to selected good homes, so please do not be offended when I ask what kind of home you have and check that the kitten will have a happy life. The kitten’s new owner must take care of the physical as well as the mental welfare of the cat. From the DraCoon cattery, we sell kittens to families in where they have equality among family members and cat must be taken care of and loved a lot. To make sure that cat is healthy and happy you must ensure that they are always given quality food, the right inoculations and regular medical examinations by vet. When you consider re homing a cat you must remember that you will be getting a new family member for 10 to 15 years and please take in to account the responsibilities this will bring. It is worth while getting pet insurance as once the cat gets sick or starts to age, vet trips will no doubt increase and become more expensive.

New owner will get always get a bill of health from the vet and information on which should be read through very carefully.

Unfortunately DraCoon cattery will not sell kittens to people who will to allow there cats to walk outdoors freely, for safety reason. Maine Coon preserve radius can be 60km wide and not controlled cat disappears or is facing accident more than easily and it is advised that all out door exercise be supervised as this will help keep your cat safe. Out door exercise is strongly advised to use a cat lead or take the cat in an enclosed out door area.

Any questions concerning re homing the kitten or raising and keeping the cat are more than welcome, we would also appreciate it if you could let us know how the kitten settles in and how they are adjusting to there new home.

Kitten re homing happens when the kitten is:
- more than 12 weeks old
- have had worm treatment
- has been inoculated twice
- have had medical examination by vet, including certificate
- is registered
- have microchip
